New Role - Out of School Care Assistant Manager

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (shift pattern usually between 7:30am–6:30pm, Monday-Friday, to meet the needs of the service)

Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 Childcare Qualification (Level 4 / Degree-Level Qualification is desirable).

Responsible to: Children and Young People’s Services Manager

Salary scale: Point 24-27 SJC scale

Description: An exciting new opportunity has arisen in our Out of School Care services for an Assistant Manager to work with the Children and Young People’s Services Manager, to contribute to the development of the Out of School Care improvement plan, in line with the organisation’s business priorities, staff and customer feedback, and any feedback received from external monitoring agencies.

Your time will be split between being office-based and time spent on the floor coaching and developing staff, building and maintaining trusting relationships with children, staff and parents, and ensuring that the service is operating to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities of this Role: To manage and develop the staff team, to promote the Indigo brand values, and to ensure all systems and procedures are delivered to the highest standard, delivering on the outstanding quality of service for children, young people, families and staff that is described in our vision. Where the systems can be improved to meet with new thinking, legislation and/or challenges, the Assistant Manager is responsible for highlighting this to the Manager and discussing potential solutions. The Assistant Manager is responsible for:

  1. The day-to-day general management and development of the service;
  2. The marketing and promotion of the service through ensuring effective delivery of outstanding customer service across the whole team;
  3. The day-to-day self-evaluation and continual improvement of effective implementation of National Care Standards and systems that evidence Achieving Quality Scotland’s highest standards.

What do you need to have to be considered for this position?

We are looking for a cheerful individual with a caring nature, who will demonstrate respect and fairness across every aspect of your work. You will be required to have experience delivering excellent leadership and management within childcare setting, be creative, solution-focussed, and have determination to support others to excel. You will have a good understanding of quality assurance systems and how these are monitored to ensure services are operating the highest standard and have previous experience of implementing Curriculum for Excellence. Above all, you will have a passionate interest in helping children and young people achieve their best.

Early Years Attainment Officer

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Responsible to: Early Years Manager

Qualifications: Must hold, or be in final year of, BA Childhood Practice, or Graduate PDA Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 9, or Graduate BEd.

Salary scale: Point 24-27 SJC scale

Childcare Sessional / Bank Staff

Hours: Casual, as and when required [often short notice for staff absence]

Salary scale: £8.75 per hour

Brief Description: Sessional Childcare Workers assist the childcare team to ensure the smooth running of services. Demonstrating flexibility and enthusiasm Indigo Group Sessional/Bank Staff will provide childcare in our Early Years, Out of School Care & Mobile Crèche facility to cover for staff absence/illness/annual leave/training and fluctuating demand. These posts are suitable for staff studying childcare or already in work and wishing to supplement their existing income, or to gain additional childcare knowledge and experience.

Interviews will be held: Usually held in rounds approximately every 6-8 weeks
